The ancient Jewish value of commitment to tikkun olam, repairing our broken world, is another important element of congregational life. As Jews, our job is to do whatever we can to help make this world a better place. There are at least three different types of tikkun olam: congregational tikkun olam, community tikkun olam, and global tikkun olam.
Temple Beth El needs to continue to be a place where its members can bring the presence of God into their lives. When we can instill the lives of those in our community with a sense of k'dushah, then we will have succeeded in fulfilling one of our greatest missions as a congregation.
