Our Religious School goals:
- To guide our students to self-identification with
the Jewish people.
- To stimulate students' sense of responsibility and
community.
- To provide our students with ongoing Jewish
experiences.
- To prepare and inspire students to derive
continuing enrichment from Jewish education, to live
and enjoy their Judaism.
- To instill an awareness of the presence of God in
all areas of life.
- To engender a commitment of weaving Mitzvot into
our daily lives.
- To help our children become ethical Jews.
- To work with families and our community to meet
these goals.
Student obligations and expectations:
- Remember that our Religious School is located in a
house of worship. This is OUR synagogue. Make sure
that it, and those within it, are treated with
respect and dignity.
- Students are responsible for the books and
curricular materials loaned to them for the
Religious School year. Lost or damaged materials
must be replaced at the student’s expense.
- Participation in activities and events such as
youth programming and community holiday and
life-cycle celebrations is an important part of
Religious Education.
- Learning and growing in your knowledge of our
tradition, faith, and heritage are your joys and
obligations as a Jew. The excitement and inspiration
you find in the process is up to you!
Parent obligations and expectations:
- Encourage good attendance by insuring your child
gets to Temple on time and ready to participate.
- Schedule vacations and other activities during
non-school times whenever possible.
- Support the value of your child’s religious
school experience by modeling behaviors such as
attendance at Services and involvement in
Temple/Religious School events.
- Participate in opportunities to expand your own
Jewish practice, observance and knowledge.
- Pursue opportunities to be an active part of this
Jewish community.
