Doors in social hallClick on any of the photographs for an enlarged version.

The doors in the social hall contain the words of Jacob when he awoke from his dream and he saw the ladder connecting heaven and earth: 'How awesome is the place, this is none other than the house of God, the gate of heaven" (Genesis 28:17). Jacob names the place of his dream, Beth EL (house of God).

On the inside of the door is the watchword of Judaism: Hear O Israel, the Eternal is our God, the Eternal is one. The same words are repeated on the outside of the Vassault Street door.
