The Twelve Tribes of Israel
In Temple Beth El's chapel can be found 12 colorful wall
hangings which represent the symbols of the 12 tribes of Israel--Reuben, Simon,
Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulon, Dan, Gad, Naphtali, Asher, Joseph, and
Benjamin--handworked in applique. The banners were designed by Analee
Reutlinger in 1982 and contain fabric donated from the lives of TBE
congregants. They were commissioned for Temple Beth El by Adelyn and
Warren Barde in memory of her mother, Anna Meier Sigel. Please note:
